The 5+1 Best Spots for a Sunset in Naples Florida with Hidden Gems Included

Welcome to my unofficial guide to finding the best spots for a Sunset in Naples Florida!

After spending the last few weeks in Naples Florida trying to catch the sunset from every angle possible I’m ready to reveal which are the best spots to see the sunset; meanwhile my boyfriend was rolling his eyes: really another sunset viewing??? (I always get my way hihihi…)

Look:

Sunsets are all too magical and it’s always so cool to watch them dipping below the horizon. Since we were in Naples FL I thought it will be a great idea to create a list of the perfect sunset viewing spots.

You see with my boyfriend we’re wanderers who are traveling through the US and seeing everything there. Meanwhile we blog about our experiences. He says that if you have seen one sunset you’ve seen them all I beg to differ.

I’ve created this list and tried to squeeze in all the possible ways to view the sun going down. You name it I have listed it below. Maybe you want to watch it from the sand or the Pier, maybe from a restaurant or on a cruise?

I got it covered. Enjoy!

Let me see them already!

#1 Naples Pier

When I think of the best spot to watch a sunset in Naples, the first place that comes to mind is the Naples Pier. It’s such a beautiful and peaceful place, and the view of the sun sinking into the Gulf of Mexico is simply amazing.

It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a romantic spot to watch the sunset with your significant other.

However, I would recommend arriving early so that you can get a good spot. Otherwise, it can be quite crowded especially during the tourist season.

Even if you can’t get a spot right on the Pier, there are still plenty of great places to watch the sunset in Naples.

Another great spot for watching the sunset is along Third Street. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes lining the street, so you can grab a bite to eat while enjoying the view. And since the sun sets

Here’s why it’s my #1 pick:

  • The Pier is accessible and well-maintained with restrooms available
  • There is no entrance fee to see the Pier
  • The area provides stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico, with colorful sunsets over the water
  • It’s best to arrive at least 20 minutes before sunset so that the sun can wait for no one
  • There are plenty of great food joints within walking distance along to finish the evening strong

#2 Lovers Key State Park

The Pier is nice, but it gets crowded super fast. We like solitude so on our second trip we went with plan B.

The sun was just setting in the sky, painting the world in a spectrum of oranges and pinks. I stood on the balcony of my lover’s beachfront condo, taking in the view. We had been planning this trip for months, and it was finally happening.

We were excited to spend the week relaxing on the beach and watching the sunset every night.

As I watched the sun dip below the horizon, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was soothing, and I knew that this was going to be a week to remember.

I turned to go back inside, but not before taking one last look at the beautiful view. It was time for dinner.

This is why you need to catch the sunset from here:

  • The Lover’s Key State Park is a great spot for sunset because it offers beautiful views of the ocean and the sky.
  • It’s also a great location to see dolphins and manatees, which makes it a perfect spot for nature lovers.
  • The white sand beach and the crashing waves make it the perfect way to relax and end the evening.
  • Plenty of parking available.

#3 Rookery Bay (Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve)

It was a warm, sunny day as I boarded the boat with my boyfriend. We were all excited for the adventure ahead. As we sailed away, the sun began to set. We were so lucky to have spotted a beautiful Roseate Spoonbill.

Just a few minutes later, we saw a Magnificent Frigatebird circling above us. We were all mesmerized by the beauty of nature. As we watched the sunset, we felt so lucky to have experienced such a magical moment.

Everything was according to plan. The weather was clear no clouds whatsoever. So the view was picture perfect.

This is why you need to catch the sunset from here:

  • The location provides stunning views of the sun setting over the water.
  • The area is home to a variety of bird species, which makes for an interesting experience watching them fly in for the night.
  • The captain who took us on the cruise was knowledgeable and passionate about the area and its wildlife, which made for an enjoyable experience.
  • The cruise provides a unique way to experience the area and its beauty and the sunset won’t be forgotten.

#4 Vanderbilt Beach

Our next choice for the sunset was the Vanderbilt Beach, I was in awe. The sky was ablaze with oranges and pinks, and the waves crashing against the shore were soothing background noise.

I could feel the sand between my toes, and the salty air was refreshing on my skin.

We had driven down to the beach earlier that day, so we had plenty of time to find the perfect spot to watch the sunset.

We set up my beach chair and blanket, and settled in to enjoy the show.

As the sun slowly dipped below the horizon, I was mesmerized by the beauty of it all.

This is why you need to catch the sunset from here:

  • It’s close to the apartment, so it’s easy to get to.
  • The sand is very powdery, which is great for walking and sunsets.
  • The beach is packed with people who stay all day and those who come just for the sunsets, so it’s always a lively atmosphere.
  • Everyone applauds when the sun sets, making it a fun and lovely experience.

#5 Baleen Restaurant

I promised my boyfriend that this would be the last sunset that we would view, in Naples, that is.

As we waited for our dinner, we couldn’t help but take in the incredible view. The sun was setting behind the Gulf of Mexico and the colors were absolutely breathtaking. It was definitely worth braving the cold weather for!

Mario soon brought out our salads and they were both delicious. I was really looking forward to my lobster bisque, but it did not disappoint. The bisque was creamy and had just the right amount of lobster flavor. It was definitely one of the best I’ve ever had!

Overall, we had an incredible dining experience at Baleen Restaurant. The food was outstanding, the service was great, and the view was simply breathtaking.

This is why you need to catch the sunset from here:

  • The restaurant offers a great view of the sunset.
  • The staff is warm and welcoming.
  • There is a wide variety of food to choose from.
  • The service is excellent.
  • The prices are fair.
  • The atmosphere is cozy and romantic.
  • It’s a great spot for a date night.

#6 Sweet Liberty Catamaran Boat Tours – Sunset Tours

Can you smell it? There’s romance in the air…

We have seen the sunset from every angle from the shore so it was obvious that we needed to try something different.

This is when we found that there are sunset boat tours. I’ve signed us up in that instant.

We boarded the Sweet Liberty catamaran and set sail for the horizon. As we watched the sun dip below the waves, the crew served us wine and cheese.

It was a beautiful night, and I’ll never forget it. If you’re looking for a romantic or fun night out, I highly recommend heading to the Sweet Liberty catamaran!

This is why you need to catch the sunset from here:

  • The Sweet Liberty Catamaran Boat Tours offers a Sunset Tour that is great for watching the sun go down (picture-perfect).
  • The crew is wonderful and accommodating, and they’ll give you pillows and blankets if you want them.
  • The trip is fantastic for a group of people, and it’s a great value for the price.
